A family lives in harmony and happiness. Giovanni - the father - is psychiatrist; his wife Paola works in design. They have two children, Irene and Andrea, both going to high school. One Sunday morning Giovanni receives the dramatic news that his son Andrea has died in an incident, while he was diving. The serenity of the family collapses and daily life is filled with sufferance, silence, sense of guilt and incomprehension.
